Blizzcon, progression, and shake-ups, O My!
February 23, 2009
Well it's been a while since VSguild.com has an update, so I guess it's more then time to get 'er done. A lot has happened since December 10, our last update. Although we took in the former Illidanis from Tux back in December, they've since went their own way. We wish them well on their WoW and real world endeavors. But VS, although in a recruiting drive right now, isn't hurting for enthusiastic and talented raiders. We've picked up a few good raiders recently and we're pretty happy to have them on board.
Progression-wise, I'm happy to report VS is doing great. We're a casual guild and only raid 3, sometimes 4, days a week, for about 3-4 hours a night, but we have a good group of raiders. So not surprisingly, we've full-cleared Regular Naxxramas and we're three bosses short of a full clear Heroic Naxxramas. On Sunday, February 22, not only did we go back and pound regular Kel'thuzad again like we're pretty much doing every week, but we also downed Sartharion down with Shadron up, which was a VS first (although to be fair we've been ignoring Sarth totally in favor of Naxx progression, we could have had a drake down sooner, I'm sure). We've got our eye on you, Malygos, so beware.
On a final note, Blizzcon has been announced for August 21 and 22, 2009, in Anaheim, California. Three of us from Orlando made the trek out to Anaheim in October of 2008 for Blizzcon last year, and it looks like there's already 5 of us signed up for Blizzcon 2009. We hope to see not only our non-Florida guildies make the trip, but we're looking forward to meeting up with our new realm-mates from Haomarush as well.
Sartharion Down!
December 10, 2008
The first victim of our march through Northrend is none other then Sartharion of The Obsidian Sanctum. A big congratulations are in order to Flaye for his Tier 7 gloves, the first T7 piece in VS. The Sartharion kill booted VS briefly into the position as the #11 guild on the entire server, according to Wowjutsu, although the 12/10/08 Wowjutsu update pushed us back down to #12. Still, for a casual raiding guild, we're kicking ass and taking names.
On a personal note, I am a little sad to say that this is the first time I've missed a VS progression kill since I founded this guild, but I'm so very proud of my raiders. I had a personal catastrophe happen at home before I reached 80, and was out of WoW (and pretty well out of a home) for over a week. I came back to find a lot of 80s and raids on the schedule and a real desire to progress. I can't begin to express how pleased I am by not just the progression they've already made, but the drive my guys have to go forward. I think we had some of the best players on Cho'gall, and I think that we picked up some of the best players from Cho'gall, Illidan, Mannoroth, and Haomarush itself over the past few weeks. As GM of VS, I want to publicly tell my guys how much I love 'em. So lots <3 to VS, you guys made me laugh and feel accomplished during a very difficult time in my life right now.
Arthas Beware!
December 10, 2008
Watch out, Lich King, Victorious Secret has cast its eye on you. After a rather long raiding sabbatical and the levelling grind to 80, VS is back in action and better then ever. We did make the big move from Cho'gall to our new home on Haomarush, and in the move picked up a whole lot of great new friends, mostly from the guild Tux, formerly of the Illidan server.
So new home, new friends, but same great guild. Not surprisingly, our raiders are chomping at the bit to start taking on the Lich King's minions. So keep a weather eye out, Arthas... we're coming for you! |
